Deeq Development Organization [DDO] is a local NGO of nongovernmental organization and non-profits organization that was established in 2023, with the aim of supporting the most vulnerable groups among the society including women, children, youth at risk, disabled people and minority groups, through lobbying, advocacy, policy development, access to health, education and participation engagement interventions across the country, the organization’s main base is at Mogadishu.  

DEEQ believes that the empowerment of local community through awareness, social attitude changes and sustainable capacity building interventions is the best approach enabling them to respond their needs in reliable and constructive way, however, as to translate these beliefs in to practical way, DEEQ set five sectors as programmatic thematic areas of the organization including   capacity building, community behavior change, community-based advocacy, information and resource mobilization and sharing. In addition to that, the DEEQ has three focused sector-programmatic areas:

  • Democracy, Peace, and Human rights, women empowerment, gender equality and tackling Gender based violence programs
  • Community Health Promotion including mother and child nutrition programs
  • Sustainable food security and livelihood for Women and youth
  • Humanitarian emergency interventions
  • Cohesion and social unification

Our vision is to have a Somali society freeing from violence, injustice, poverty, that fully practice and enjoy democracy, human rights, and development mechanism with regard to gender, economic class, geographical location, clan, physical status, and political ideology.

DEEQ stands for ensuring that the most vulnerable groups of women, youth at risk, children, minority groups, and disabled people, IDPs persons  have access to enjoy with all  their basic rights entitled in fair way as other community members do, by working with local and international none governmental organizations, government institutions, community groups in Somalia through capacity building, lobbying, advocacy, community behavior change, resource mobilization and community participation programs with strategic means.
